Everyone across the globe knows about the ‘Big Fat Indian Wedding’ and how the Indians take their wedding ceremonies very seriously. In the recent years, the wedding industry has been on the rise, with couples leaving no stone unturned for their wedding day.
Destination weddings have gained a lot of popularity and are here to stay. Turkey is emerging as one of the most popular destinations for weddings, and rightly so. The resort cities of Bodrum and Antalya have become a popular choice, offering the perfect summer wedding setting. The Turkish Tourism Board in India has announced recently that Turkey’s resort city of Antalya which hosted four consecutive Indian weddings in April 2019. Three more weddings are scheduled to take place in May 2019 – two in Istanbul and one in Bodrum.
“This is a good beginning and we expect the number of Indian weddings in Turkey to go up along with arrival of Indian tourists in 2019. We have been holding regular meetings with wedding planners and patrons in India and have been receiving regular enquiries. The wedding tourism market is huge in India and Turkey can offer everything that is needed to make a big fat Indian destination wedding memorable,” says H.
