The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced that the Royal Thai Government has finally approved the extension of the visa-on-arrival fee waiver for citizens of over 20 countries (Including India) for another six months, that is until 31 October, 2019. More and more Indians are using this opportunity and immediately booking their trips to Thailand whiling saving money on their vacation.
Tourist arrivals from Visakhapatnam (India) to Thailand are likely to rise further as the Royal Thai Government has extended the waiver of visa-on-arrival fee – you now save a sum of THB 2,000 (₹4,380) on your travel as you don’t pay for the on-arrival-visa anymore (till only more few more months).
Thai AirAsia Airlines had launched a low-cost direct service from Visakhapatnam to Bangkok since 8th December, 2018. They launched a special campaign to increase tourist arrivals from Visakhapatnam region, boosting the travel industry in Thailand.
The initial approval on the visa-on-arrival fee waiver was from 15th November 2018 to 14th January 2019. However, the Royal Thai Government Gazette announced on 30th April that it has now been extended till 31st October 2019. The announcement was made to enhance and promote tourism as well as to gain popularity as an attractive kingdom among the foreign tourists.
