It’s no big deal for Indian actors to step beyond bollywood, breaking into international podiums wearing their talent loud and proud. Only recently it was disclosed that Bollywood’s King Khan will be the Chief Guest at the 10th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. The government of Victoria has invited the global icon to celebrate the spirit of Indian Films, to which the actor responded saying “I am feeling very happy and honoured to be invited by the Victorian Government as a chief guest”.
This year, the festival is in its tenth edition and unveils a theme of ‘courage’ – a theme that resonates with the diversity and inclusion represented by Indian film industry. The event is to be held at Cultural City in Australia from 8th August to 17th August.
Shah Rukh will be accompanied by ‘Premier of Victoria’ , Daniel Andrews and Mitu Bhowmick Lange, the director of the festival at the official opening of the festival on Day 1.
Considered one of the largest Indian film festivals across the southern part of the world, the festival hosts tourists from various regions. “An industry of this magnitude and diversity deserves to be celebrated with enthusiasm and fervour and this is what the Festival embodies,” said Shah Rukh Khan. King Khan’s stardome extends to more than half of the countries, making him a grand appearance at the 10th edition of the Festival this year.
