The Royal family of Abu Dhabi, known for its engagement in clubs around the globe and its ownership of the city football group, recently laid its interest in the Indian football club, last week. Etihad Airways, the second largest airline in the UAE, is set to commence its collaboration with the Football Club of Mumbai City.
For more than fifteen years, the airline has been piloting to India. This partnership is expected to lend more weight to Etihad Airways’ alliance with the Indian market, as well as to the international football community, as stated by Yasser Al Yousuf, Vice President Commercial Partnerships, Etihad Aviation Group.
Damian Willoughby, Chief Executive of City Football Group India, said, “We welcome Etihad’s partnership of Mumbai City FC. Etihad is a world class airline and a world class partner. We are delighted that they are going to be extending their renowned footprint in global football to India and, more specifically, to Mumbai.
