ITC announced the launch of its 14th luxury hotel in India – ITC Royal Bengal, Kolkata. ITC has headquartered in West Bengal for about a hundred years and their latest property is a salute to the spirit of Bengal. The hotel was inaugurated by West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
ITC’s Royal Bengal is inspired by regional history of Bengal, it’s blend of culture and contemporary design speaks through its incredible architecture. The 30 storied luxury property is spread across an area of 61000 square feet including convention centre and banqueting. The hotel is constructed at a height of 133 metres, next to ITC Sonar ; the two properties together combine to offer 693 rooms, inclusive of serviced apartments and luxury suites, 22 meeting halls that can cover events of multiple kinds, 15 fine dining venues and a grand pillar-less ballroom that screams of bonzer.
The new hotel has said to have roped in an investment of approximately INR 1400 Crores. “This signature property will provide further impetus to transforming the tourism landscape in the state and will be an icon of repute on the world tourism map. This landmark investment from ITC is a part of the company’s growing footprint in the state across all sectors, namely agriculture, manufacturing and services,” said Sanjiv Puri, chairman and managing director of ITC Ltd.
